Si eres nuevo en el buceo y quieres explorar el mundo submarino sin certificación, nuestra experiencia de Discover Scuba Diving en Tamarindo es perfecta para ti. Experimenta dos inmersiones en las Islas Catalinas, donde nuestro equipo de instructores garantizará tu seguridad y hará que tu primera experiencia de buceo sea inolvidable.
Para buceadores certificados, ofrecemos nuestro Tour de Buceo Divertido con dos inmersiones en las Islas Catalinas. Saliendo de Tamarindo a las 7 am y regresando alrededor de las 12:30 pm, nuestro tour comienza con un cómodo viaje a Flamingo Bay, donde nos espera nuestro barco de buceo. Desde allí, navegaremos hacia las Islas Catalinas para dos inmersiones. Entre las inmersiones, ofrecemos refrescos que incluyen frutas frescas y bebidas.

Después de certificarme en una cantera como Open Water en Uruguay, salí por primera vez al mar con Lucas y Cecilia de Be Water. Volvería a salir con ellos mil veces. Estuvieron siempre atentos a temas de seguridad y de operativos, me dieron un briefing muy detallado, y pudimos hacer dos buceos increíbles en Isla Catalina.
Unos amigos hicieron Snorkel también y toda el staff estuvo siempre atento a las necesidades de todos. La comida estaba buenísima también.

We recently got our scuba certification with be water diving. We will never forget the experience this lifetime, and all the credits goes to our trainer LUCAS from be water diving! What a kind , sweet gentleman! He made us feel so calm under pressure (literal and mental pressure) and we had the best ever experience. He showed us every little sea creature and made our experience so wholesome! The reef sharks were a beautiful sight! So so thankful to be water and Lucas! My wife and I enjoyed 4 dives with Lucas and Ines this past week at the Catalina Islands. Their briefings were thorough, they handled our personal gear between dives as well as overnight, and they were clearly experienced guides at the sites we dove pointing out multiple octopus, eels and other creatures that often require a degree of familiarity to easily locate. The boats are small and we had both snorkelers and discover scuba guests with us each day. However, we did have a dedicated dive master for the certified diver group and we were dropped in different areas. Drinks and snacks were provided, but bring your own towel if desired. We'd dive with them again.

We arrived at the office at 7am and they were waiting and on time. They briefed us and then we took a skiff to the snorkel/dive boat. The crew was awesome and there was some comedy. The crew looked like a Costa Rican version of Money Heist and entertaining and attentive. They gave us water and snacks. We saw an abundance of fish including eels, sharks, a water snake, and a baby shark. We would recommend them to our friends and family and to anyone else who wanted to know a good snorkel or dive guide. Thank you.

We booked through our hostel and had an incredible time snorkelling! Our guide Lucas was great at spotting wildlife and keeping us safe. Our group only had 3 people in it! We saw sharks, an octopus, LOTS of jellyfish, and a bunch of fishies. 🐠🐡🐟

I came here on May 5, 2026. It was my first experience diving and I was blown away by the instructors and the dive spot. My instructor Lucas was patient explaining above water and remained level headed in the water. We were lucky enough to see two manta rays, a turtle, and lots of other amazing creatures. The rest of the crew was great and the banana bread they served as a snack was one of the greatest things I’ve ever eaten. It’s safe to say I’m now hooked on diving. Thanks for the amazing adventure! Pura vida!!

Amazing trip start to finish. From siting dolphins on the way out, to snorkeling above the giant mantas and a reef shark. The guides were always aware of everyone and the boat was in sight. Very safe.

The dive was truly fantastic! Together with instructor Sam, we saw sharks and a manta ray, which was an amazing experience. The boat was also super comfortable and everyone on board was incredibly friendly and helpful. It really felt like a top-notch day underwater and on the boat! Definitely recommended for anyone who loves diving.

The conditions weren't ideal—strong currents and medium-low visibility—but thanks to them, the experience was safe and very enjoyable. We saw amazing marine life: sharks, manta rays, moray eels, pufferfish...

Incredible time with Jessica and Lucas. True snorkeling and scuba excursions. We saw many trips like this that were more of a booze cruise and are ecstatic with our decision. We had a small group on the boat with us and all had an incredible time. The snorkeling was fantastic and we got to see multiple types of rays including a manta, sharks, all sorts of fish, and even some eels. 10/10 experience.

Nous avons fait deux activités avec Be water diving : Plongée / snorkeling et tortues. Les deux activités étaient très bien organisées. Pour la plongée le matériel est bien entretenu et de qualité. La plongée au top avec des mantas, raie aigle, requin,... Pensez à prendre un médicament contre le mal de mer car ca secoue. Notre guide de palanquée Ines était au top, à l'écoute, attentive à notre sécurité et notre confort. Super club de plongée.

The crew here are absolutely phenomenal from the captains to the instructors (they also have the coolest shop). We did our Open Water Certification with Ines and she was amazing to work with and took great care of us. Super fun dive both days and got to see some amazing marine life, thanks to Lucas (another instructor) for offering to take our picture underwater even though we weren’t part of his dive crew!

Loved diving with the team of Ines, Jessica, Lucas and Nicolas. 3 days of fun discovery the sealives in las Catalinas. Sleeping sharks, schools of flying rays above us. Great attention to detail, extremely helpful and safe , and very accommodating for older generation. Organized but relaxed and upbeat. Costa Rica water was cold and not very clear. Saw manta rays, snakes. Eels, rays, starfish, octopus, sharks. Dolphins, sea slug. Scorpion fish. Cornetfish. Morey, porcupine fish. Sea urchin. Guitar fish. And other fish

The instructors are so professional and caring for first time snorkelers. They emphasize safety and had a wide breadth of knowledge about the sea creatures we were about to see. Including a manta rays, tropical fish, eels, one reef shark that stayed at the floor of the ocean. The adventure also takes you on a 45 minute boat ride to gorgeous Catalinas Island. Highly recommend!

I dove with Be Water Diving Center and had a really good experience.
It was my first time scuba diving in the open ocean. They explained everything clearly and made sure I was ready to go.
Both dives had great wildlife. Sharks, fish, mantas and a ton of other cool stuff. Overall it was smooth, well run, and a great first ocean dive experience. I’d definitely go with them again.

Agradezco que mi primer buceo haya sido con ellos. Me dieron mucha tranquilidad desde el comienzo hasta el final. Son muy responsables! No hubo un momento en el que no hayan estado controlando todo debajo del agua, chequeando que estemos bien, cómodos y disfrutando de la actividad. A demás de eso pudimos ver muchísima flora y fauna. Los chicos son re copados tanto en buceo como en snorkel!
Solo tengo palabras de agradecimiento!! Nuestras vacaciones pasaron de un 10 a un 1000!! 🩷✨

una experiencia increíble! muchísima vida marina y la experiencia aún mejor gracias a inés, Lucas y magda 🙂 terminé el open waters con ellos y las inmersiones las hicieron super amenas. nos fue enseñando vida marina que a simple vista no se ve (pulpos, morenas, peces piedra….). Además los bizcochos que te dan a bordo están buenisimo!!! y fruta para resfrescsrnos. Sin duda, repetiría con ellos x100

I have no words to express how extraordinary these people are. They are so kind, patient, friendly, and passionate about their work.
They are very attentive and always give great advice. It was my first dive, and I will remember it for the rest of my life. I will remember the amazing animals I saw and how wonderful these people were to me.
I truly thank the entire team, and especially Lucas, who taught me everything and helped me manage my breathing despite my nerves. If you want to go diving in Tamarindo or need other services, don't hesitate; you've come to the right place.

Our group of 12 really enjoyed this excursion!! We wanted to try something new and adventurous and the crew was friendly, helpful and made us feel super safe. The delicious pineapple and homeade cakes were a great added touch to our trip:) Would highly reccomend!!

La experiencia de buceo ha sido normal porque esto del mar es así. Mucha vida marina y peces pero veníamos esperando buena visibilidad y ver mantas. No ha podido ser. Es pronto siendo enero. Tendremos que volver. La experiencia con el centro ha sido inmejorable. Tanto la recepción, trato, equipo, explicaciones y conocimientos del guía y asistentes han sido geniales. Los equipos han funcionado a la perfección. La embarcación es segura y bien preparada. Todo perfecto y recomendable.

Nico, Luca and Ines were amazing, so friendly and accommodating.
We did several dives in the Catalina Islands, great service and very convenient right by the beach.
We saw white tip sharks, turtles, plenty of morays rockas and plenty of life despite limited 10m visibility.

Did two morning dives with Be water diving. Well organized and nice and knowledgeable staff. Dived at Catalina Island, saw a lot of wildlife, white tip sharks, eagleray etc. Visibility was not the best (3-5 m), but still very nice dives. Approx. 12-15 meters. The boat trip was nice, saw dolphins and the staff offered fruit and cake. No problems with the language! Recommend!

I took my Open Water Course with Be Water Diving Tamarindo and it was a fantastic experience.
I learned to dive with Lucas, who was very kind, patient, and funny, which made the whole course feel friendly and relaxed. Even though I took the course alone, I felt confident the entire time.
The entire staff is very friendly and helpful, always willing to assist. I highly recommend them for your diving course, especially if it's your first time.

We did two nice dives at Catalina Island on December 2, 2025. We saw a variety of fish and several whitetip reef sharks. There was some current and visibility wasn't the best, but we're in the Pacific Ocean! The “Ocean Rider” boat is perfect for a morning trip, and the staff and guide were super welcoming!

My family of 4 booked the half day snorkel trip with Be Water Diving. What an experience! The trip started with a 30min smooth and acenic ride to the Catalina Islands. We saw 2 large turtles in the way. Once we got to the first destination, we all jumped in and snorkelled. We saw many pools of tropical fish, puffers, starfish and other fish. We then went to another location and snorkeled more. The crew were professional, kind, funny and reassuring. We felt very safe the whole time. Snacks and drinks were provided too. I highly recommend this trip. My 19 yr old said this was the best part of our trip to CR which says a lot because we did a ton!

An excellent diving experience.
The team is friendly and very professional, adapting to each diver's experience level. Diving at the Catalina Islands was one of the best I've ever done. You can see whitetip reef sharks, turtles, rays, and countless schools of fish. Dolphins even came to greet us.
Snorkeling is also possible there.
If you're ever in Tamarindo, don't hesitate to visit this small local dive center!

Lucas did amazing job! Communicated very well. Had a great diving assistant and support team. A couple great dives on a beautiful September day. Capn did a great job driving the boat. Saw humpback whales, green turtles, dolphins (all on the surface), some white tip reef sharks resting on the bottom and a myriad of other cool things!

My experience was AMAZINNGGG! I was terrified tbh bc I was nervous about my ears, but they went down slowly with me and made sure I was okay before going down further. They were awesome at spotting cool stuff too!! Very professional and kind!

Be Water Diving was amazing with a well educated and very kind staff! Lucas was my instructor and he made the entire process of completing my Open Water certification seamless and super fun! The boat captain was great, happily venturing “off course” when we would spot whales and dolphins!
P.S. the restaurant next door (Caprichos) is delicious and the perfect spot to grab lunch after the dive (highly recommend the Bomba Schnitzel).

In the face of all the amazing reviews I contacted them the day before, they said we do snorkelling from 7-12. We planned to be there the next day and they weren’t there. We asked someone, he said they are closed. And later they responded to my whats app message saying we are closed today, even though the day before they said they were open.

We had a great time with this dive center. We did two dives at Las Catalinas, at the El Classico and Los Sombreros sites, and we loved both dive sites. We booked and prepaid through a reliable website they recommended and showed up at 7:00 AM. We reached the dive site in a 40-minute boat ride. We saw numerous sharks, many pufferfish, many moray eels of various colors, and an eagle ray. During the boat trip, we also saw a couple of whales, dolphins, and turtles. Excellent organization. Our instructor, Lucas, was well-trained, spoke good English, and gave us all the necessary instructions before diving. The briefing was well-conducted, and everything was completely safe. The equipment was good and modern. There were only three of us diving with the instructor. We recommend this dive center if you want to dive from Tamarindo.

Wow, what a great company! I really enjoyed the entire experience. From the very first contact over WhatsApp—where the BeWater team was quick to respond and very helpful—to the actual diving itself, everything was perfect.
I booked three discovery dives for my wife and two daughters, as well as a dive trip for myself. Luca, my dive instructor, was extremely kind and made sure I had all the information I needed during our boat trip. The kids also received clear instructions, and I must admit—I was even more excited about their dive than my own. And I was not disappointed! Neither by my dive, nor by the enthusiasm the kids showed after their very first dive.
I was able to join my wife and kids for their second dive, and switching groups was no problem at all. As I said, really wonderful people.
Result: my kids now want to go for their certification!

We saw baby sharks and lots of fish—it was such a great experience, and I highly recommend going there! It was my first time scuba diving, and the staff was very friendly, explaining everything thoroughly. Underwater, we didn’t have many complications, and even when we did, they helped us immediately.

This is such a great outfit! The sign up process was easy, communication prior to visit was excellent and staff very responsive! Our dive guide and boat staff were helpful and informative. Safety was top priority! Our group had 1 that was trying scuba and the instructor/guide was so patient and really made him enjoy his experience! I think we have a new diver! The dive spots were incredible! Especially Mexican Hat with sharks, octopus and swimming with schools of fish! Best dive EVER! Thank you, Be Water Diving!

We had an amazing experience with We Water Diving Center in Costa Rica! Our instructors, Luca and Nico, were fantastic—professional, friendly, and made us feel safe and excited throughout the adventure.
We went snorkeling and were blown away by what we saw: reef sharks, colorful tropical fish, a pufferfish, giant sea turtles, whales, and playful dolphins. The water was crystal clear, the equipment was in great condition, and the atmosphere was relaxed yet full of energy.

We did our Open Water certification here. We had a fantastic time with a very competent and friendly instructor. Lucas organized some great dives for us, taught us a lot during the training, and made us feel safe. I highly recommend this diving school and would come back anytime to do more dives here.

So, I get super skeptical when I see perfect five star reviews for the dive outfits that I use for scuba internationally. I visited Be Water’s website, and I was intrigued enough to sign up for a two tank dive with them while I was in Tamarindo vacationing with my family.
Having gone on a dive with Luca and Luis, I now understand… and I agree that they indeed deserve my five stars.
I watched some YouTube videos about scuba diving in the area, so I set my expectations low. I’m happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised. It was about an hour - hour and 15 minutes boat ride out to two dives in Catalina Islands @ Clasico & Pyelas dive sites.
Luis was a patient diver, even with my Master Diver status, and despite alternating thermoclines and rotating currents at 60 to 80 feet deep, we still had a blast seeing families of snoozing white tip reef sharks, several eels, hundreds of schooling fish, and even an eagle ray!
If I had more time in Tamarindo, I definitely would have scheduled more dives with this company. Highly recommend, without reservation; Luis u rock! #puravida

As a woman that will typically join a dive center alone, I would like to lead with the fact that I felt very safe and comfortable diving with this team. From initial contact when I inquired about the dive schedule all the way to saying goodbye. Engaging, respectful, helpful, and fun!

Plenty of schools of fish, white tip reef sharks, eagle rays, lobster, needlenose, box/cowfish, puffers- all galore! The coral is still suffering as most of our beloved sites are. I LOVE to dive and so I LOVED these dives and will absolutely return to Be Water.

It was my first time diving since graduating. I was a little apprehensive, but the support was great!! We had the chance to dive with rays, sharks, lots of fish, and even a visit from dolphins along the way. It was incredible 🤩🤩

Incredible experience with Luca and Katie. This was my first dive in 20 years and my son’s first dive since getting his certificate and they were both Extremely professional , safe and engaging. Lucas and Katie gave guidance throughout and we could not have asked for better experience. Got to see incredible sites such as sharks, zebra eel, starfish and lots of schools of fish. I cannot say enough good things about this dive company. I dove three days with them - the guides (Fernando and Lucas) were awesome, and did a great job showing us stuff underwater. They run small boats so it doesn’t feel like too many people to a guide. Despite visibility not being the best (related to the time of year), it felt very safe since the guides were always nearby and had their attention of us. Only (minor) negative that I would note is that it the boat is on the smaller side with not much space to move around. But it is well-equipped for diving, and that’s what’s important!
Additionally, I had a group of four that did a discover dive with them. Everyone that participated said it was a great experience - Lucas and Fernando were patient, they felt very safe and would do it again! Highly recommend giving them a shot if you’re looking for a dive company in the area.

I am happy to have chosen to dive with Be Water Diving. When searching for a local operator, with a small outfit and great reviews this dive shop showed up. We always plan out vacations around diving and we prefer the local small shops vs the PADI shops that have all this amazing expensive equipment and fast boats but we prefer the friendly interaction, the local vibe and dive culture. This shop fell nothing short of that.
Willy and Nico were super friendly. Fernando and Lucas were wonderful guides. From start to finish these guys made us feel right at home and made sure we got the best experience we could have.

An amazing spot for our first ocean dives! We did our 4 open water dives to finish our scuba certification and it was the perfect combination of learning and exploring!! The instructors we dove with—Fernando, Lucas and Nico—were knowledgeable and made it such an enjoyable experience! We saw sharks, a barracuda, eels, colorful fish, starfish and many other sea creatures. The boat staff were incredibly helpful and the entire experience was one to remember!!

This is a great dive shop. We went out with Fernando and Adriana. While Diving we got to hear whales in the water. We didn’t see them because they were far but it was totally cool to hear them in the water. The crew was really nice and safe. There was tons of marine life. The visibility is not great in these parts, so know that. The dive Shop is small but highly recommended!!

Amazing experience!!!! Communication was incredible. Friendly staff who went out of their way for me and my daughter on short notice. Mariano was patient and very skilled! We had a blast and saw so many beautiful creatures to include giant eels, octopus, and white tip shark along with their baby. Incredible day and in between dives we were welcomed with fresh pineapple and a sweet along with water and tea. Highly recommend this place for all your water adventure needs!!!
