To complete your SSI Open Water Diver certification, you’ll join us for four open water dives at Catalina Islands. During these dives, we’ll go through the necessary exercises to finalize your certification. Plus, you’ll get to explore the amazing marine life around Catalina Islands, including rays, manta rays, sharks, turtles, moray eels, and schools of fish! It’s the perfect way to gain experience while diving in one of the most beautiful underwater environments.
To begin the SSI Referral Open Water Course, you must have already finished the online theory and the confined water sessions with an SSI instructor.
To participate in the course, you’ll need to bring:
- Referral form from your previous instructor or dive center
- Medical form – Check HERE
Once you have everything ready, you can join us for four open water dives in Tamarindo to finalize your certification!

Once you’ve completed the referral course and received your SSI certification, you can dive anywhere in the world within the limits of your certification. You’ll be ready to explore new dive sites right after!
Our referral courses typically have small groups to ensure personalized attention. You’ll likely be diving with a small group of fellow students, with a maximum of 3 divers per instructor.
