The PADI Rescue Diver course is designed to equip you with the essential knowledge and techniques to handle a range of emergency situations underwater.

Many dive professionals regard the PADI Rescue Diver course as the best course they have ever taken, and most instructors at Be Water Diving Tamarindo cite it as their favorite course to teach. The course covers a wide range of essential skills, including self-rescue techniques, recognizing and managing stress in other divers, emergency management, and rescuing panicked or unresponsive divers.

Our experienced instructors, supported by our knowledgeable staff, are committed to making each rescue course a memorable experience for every student. By the end of the course, you will have developed the confidence, skills, and knowledge to handle emergency situations in a safe and effective manner.

The PADI Rescue Diver course is a 4-day course that includes 4 academic classroom sessions supported by independent study and 10 in-water training exercises that are evaluated with 2 scenarios on the last day of training.

The course has been updated to include the latest advances in rescue training and covers dive first aid, emergency management, dive equipment problems, and recognizing diver stress.

To enroll in the PADI Rescue Diver course, you must meet the following prerequisites:

  • Advanced Open Water certification: You must have completed the PADI Advanced Open Water course or a similar certification from another training organization. This is to ensure that you have the necessary experience and skills to handle the challenges of the Rescue Diver course.
  • Emergency First Response (EFR) certification: You must have completed training in primary and secondary care within the past 24 months. If you don’t have an EFR certification, you can take the course with us before starting the Rescue Diver course.

At Be Water Diving Tamarindo, we offer both the Advanced Open Water and EFR courses.

  • Content: 2 Academic Modules, 2 Confined Sessions, 4 Open Water Dives
  • Maximum depth allowed: 30 meters / 100 feet
  • Prerequisites: Advanced Open Water + EFR
  • All materials, equipment, transportation, PADI bilingual instructor

No fly for 24h after diving is mandatory
